19th Annual Chili Open Gala and Winter Festival

Reach out and Read proudly participated in the Sugar House Rotary Club’s Chili Open for the first time this January.  The dinner gala, held at the Grand America Hotel, was attended by over 440 people—the event’s largest crowd to date! 

Guests bid on over 180 spectacular silent and live auction items while visiting with old friends, making new friends and enjoying a fine meal. The following day, Wheeler Farm was transformed into a wintry golf course. The barn housed the best chili in Salt Lake and several family-fun activities for the kids.

The Chili Open helped Reach Out and Read raise over $18,000, which will deliver our program to more than 6,000 underprivileged Utah pre-schoolers.
